Advertisers that use Amazon attribution can attribute revenue to marketing channels other than Amazon. All of this is done with the help of the attribution tag you set for the products whose conversions you want to track.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-is-the-attribution-tag\"><strong>What is the Attribution Tag?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>It is the parametrized URL of your Amazon product that you are promoting on multiple channels. This URL can have supporting parameters to help you identify the source of the click. It could be the Campaign ID, Ad Group ID, etc. When a click gets translated into a successful transaction, then Amazon will show the sales happening for that Campaign\/ Ad Group ID. Advertisers can credit sales to the correct channel by tracking this information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The Attribution tag can be created in two different ways:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Note<\/strong>: In this post, we will discuss creating the tags for advertising on the Google Ads platform<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Through the Amazon Ads Console<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the console, you can create multiple tags. Each tag generated has a unique ID in it. When a user clicks on the tag or URL, the sales data for all traffic delivered through this link is collected. You&#8217;ll need to build one unique tag for each of your adgroups if you want to measure traffic sent by them individually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Using Amazon Ads API<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through <a href=\"https:\/\/advertising.amazon.com\/API\/docs\/en-us\/amazon-attribution\/how-to\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">API<\/a> you can specify campaign id, ad group id, creative id etc. Amazon will show advertisers the sale happening for that campaign id or ad group id in their reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>A tag generated through the API is somewhat like the below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.karooya.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/API-generated-amazon-tag.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.karooya.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/API-generated-amazon-tag.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-19356\" width=\"631\" height=\"89\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.karooya.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/API-generated-amazon-tag.png 841w, https:\/\/www.karooya.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/API-generated-amazon-tag-300x42.png 300w, https:\/\/www.karooya.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/API-generated-amazon-tag-768x109.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 631px) 100vw, 631px\" \/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are a few things to note about the API generated tag:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>This tag is to be set as a template (at campaign or ad group level, etc)<\/li><li>Users don&#8217;t\u00a0need to explicitly create campaign, ad group or tags in the Ad Console UI<\/li><li>Amazon automatically creates campaigns and ad groups in the Ad Console UI (when it starts receiving clicks)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-s-next\"><strong>What&#8217;s next?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Create your promotional campaign on the platform you&#8217;ve chosen (in our example, Google Ads) and include the Amazon-generated link. When you start receiving clicks, Amazon will start keeping a track of it.
