It\u2019s especially useful when you want to evaluate a term on your own and decide whether it\u2019s hurting your campaign performance.<\/p>\n<p>With this feature, you can:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Check how a specific term has performed in the past<\/li>\n<li>See all the search queries where that term appeared<\/li>\n<li>Use that performance data to decide whether to add it as a negative keyword<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Example Use Case<\/h3>\n<p>Let\u2019s say you sell shoes, and you\u2019re unsure whether to keep showing ads for searches that include the term <strong>&#8220;black shoes&#8221;<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Using the <strong>Custom Negative Terms<\/strong> feature, you can enter <strong>&#8220;black shoes&#8221;<\/strong> and view its performance in three different match types:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Exact Match<\/strong>: Only searches for <strong>black shoes<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Phrase Match<\/strong>: Searches like <strong>buy black shoes<\/strong>, <strong>black shoes for men<\/strong>, <strong>cheap black shoes online<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Broad Match<\/strong>: Any query that includes both words in any order, like <strong>shoes in black color<\/strong>, <strong>black formal shoes for office<\/strong>, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You\u2019ll be able to see how these queries performed historically \u2014 in terms of impressions, clicks, cost, and conversions.<\/p>\n<p>Not just that \u2014 the tool also drills down to show <strong>actual search queries<\/strong> that contained the term. This is incredibly helpful because:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You can identify if the traffic is truly irrelevant<\/li>\n<li>You may discover specific contexts where the term <em>is<\/em> performing well and shouldn&#8217;t be blocked<\/li>\n<li>You can make a more informed decision based on performance data, not guesswork<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>How to Use the Feature<\/h3>\n<p>Here\u2019s how you can use the\u00a0<strong>Custom Negative Terms<\/strong>\u00a0option inside your Karooya account:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Go to your account dashboard<\/strong>\u00a0and select the campaign where you want to add the negative keyword.\n<ul>\n<li>Tip: If you want to apply it across all campaigns, choose\u00a0<strong>\u2018All Campaigns\u2019<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Click on the \u2018Add Custom\u2019 button<\/strong>\u00a0on the right-hand side of the dashboard.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.karooya.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/add-custom-karooya-negative-kw-tool.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1316\" height=\"420\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7120\" src=\"https:\/\/www.karooya.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/add-custom-karooya-negative-kw-tool.png\" alt=\"add custom karooya negative kw tool\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li>In the pop-up box that appears:\n<ul>\n<li>Type the keyword\/term you want to analyze (e.g.,\u00a0<em>black shoes<\/em>)<\/li>\n<li>Select the match type \u2013 Exact, Phrase, or Broad<\/li>\n<li>The tool will then display historical performance for that term<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Below the performance summary, you\u2019ll also see\u00a0<strong>search queries<\/strong>\u00a0where the term appeared. Review them to understand the context and relevancy.<\/li>\n<li>By default, the tool may suggest\u00a0<strong>similar terms<\/strong>\u00a0(e.g.,\u00a0<em>black shoe<\/em>, etc.) as negative keywords. All the terms listed in the box named &#8216;<strong>Included Similar Terms<\/strong>&#8216; will be added as negative keyword.
