July 2026 was another eventful month for digital advertisers, with major platforms rolling out new AI-powered capabilities, creative tools, and campaign management features. Here’s a roundup of the most important advertising platform updates and what they mean for marketers.

At a Glance: The July 2026 platform updates show that AI is now at the core of digital advertising. From faster ad creation and real-time policy reviews to AI-powered creatives and conversational ad experiences, advertisers have more tools to improve campaign performance. The focus is on helping marketers work faster, create better ads, and make more informed decisions.

Faster ad creation with Real-Time Policy Reviews:- To help advertisers launch campaigns faster, Google is introducing Real-Time Policy Reviews for Responsive Search Ads. The feature provides instant policy feedback while you create your ads, reducing approval delays. Ads that meet policy requirements can begin serving almost immediately, eliminating much of the traditional review wait time.

Expanding AI transparency in ads:- To improve transparency, Google is rolling out a new How this ad was made panel in My Ad Center. Accessible from the three-dot menu on Search, YouTube, and Discover ads, it reveals whether an ad was created or edited with generative AI.

July 2026 update to the Display & Video 360 API:- Google has launched the July 2026 update to the Display & Video 360 API. This update includes the following:

  • AI content disclosure: Added a new field that lets advertisers specify whether an ad was created or edited using AI
  • Default branding for ads: A default business name and logo, which are automatically applied to Demand Gen and YouTube responsive ads
  • Reach Forecasting (Beta): Reach forecasts to help advertisers estimate campaign reach. It is available only to allowlisted Display & Video 360 partners
  • Client library update recommended: Update to the latest Display & Video 360 API client library to use the new features

Brand+ and Performance+ expand AI, keep advertiser control:- Gain more control over AI-powered campaigns with 10 new Brand+ and Performance+ features. Use your audience data to improve optimization, reach more customers through audio ads, and let smarter AI boost performance.

From Blank Page to High Performing Ad: Introducing LinkedIn’s New Creative Tools:- LinkedIn’s new creative tools—including Brand Kit, AI-powered ad drafting, AI-generated ad variations, flexible ad creation, and ad personalization—simplify the creative process, helping marketers produce high-quality ads faster and with greater confidence.

Instagram expands Reels post-view ads to all advertisers:- Instagram is making Post View Ads in Reels available to more advertisers. This placement allows brands to show ads immediately after an organic Reel concludes, creating an additional opportunity to engage viewers.

Meta Business Agents are here. Marketers should pay attention:- Meta is moving beyond traditional chatbots with Meta Business Agent. It enables businesses to engage potential customers through natural, context-aware conversations that span multiple interactions while maintaining a consistent brand voice across languages.

About the Ad preview hub:- The Ad Preview Hub lets advertisers check how their ads will look before launching a campaign. It makes it easier to review creatives and verify that they display correctly across devices, placements, and publishers. The previews represent the experience customers will see during ad delivery. The feature is currently available for Audience campaigns, with limited availability for Performance Max campaigns.

OpenAI appears to be building chatbot-native ads that launch AI agents:- A new ChatGPT ad format is reportedly being tested that replaces the traditional landing page with a business-specific AI assistant. Instead of directing users to a website, clicking the ad opens a ChatGPT conversation that can answer questions, recommend products, and capture leads.

CHATGPT ADS JUST ADDED CONVERSION OPTIMIZATION:- ChatGPT Ads has introduced conversion optimization, marking a significant step toward becoming a full-fledged performance advertising platform. Instead of simply optimizing for clicks, advertisers can now optimize campaigns for specific conversion events—such as purchases, sign-ups, or leads—using an optimized Cost-Per-Click (oCPC) bidding model.
